In the last two years, our budget deficit has ballooned and tax breaks go to the wealthiest portions of the population. Baron Hill has always been careful with your tax dollars and supported tax cuts to give more money back to middle class Indiana Families.
A Strong and Smart War On Terrorism
Our current leaders in Washington seem to have no plan to win the war and no plan to strengthen security here at home. Baron Hill supports implementing the recommendations made by the 9-11 Commission, and he will work to strengthen our borders and secure our ports with American companies and workers.
Retirement Security and Lower Prescription Drug Costs
Privatizing Social Security, confusing prescription drug laws, disappearing pensions - that's what our currently elected leaders are giving senior citizens these days. Baron Hill has always worked to strengthen Social Security, worked for a real prescription drug benefit and worked to protect pensions - and that's why we need him back in Congress.
Good Jobs
As our congressman, Baron Hill always worked hard to help attract new jobs to Southern Indiana and make sure that they stayed. Energy Independence
For all their talk, the current crowd in Washington has not brought energy independence to America. Baron Hill will fight to lessen our dependence on foreign oil by promoting ethanol - gasoline made from Indiana crops - and fight for incentives for bio-diesel fuel, wind energy, and increased tax credits for hybrid vehicles. Baron will also fight to cut high gasoline and home heating fuel prices that are hurting Indiana families.
